As the new year approached, one could see more and more decorations on the road, while fewer and fewer cars were out. The weather was getting colder, but Su Hang had started to come home later.

"Madam, is Sir working overtime today again?" Because Su Hang was still out, Mrs. Zhang had prepared a relatively simpler dinner.

"No." Shen Xi sat down on the table and replied: "He's attending an alumni party today."

"I see." Mrs. Zhang placed the last dish on the dinner table ad said: "Madam, since the dinner is ready, I'll be leaving first."

"Yes, goodbye." Shen Xi nodded with a smile. Then, she picked up her cellphone. After a moment's thought, she sent Su Hang a text.

[Drink less and come home early.]

In a certain private room in the club named Cirrus Cloud, Su Hang was attending his first alumni party since graduation.

"Su Hang, QingYuan told me you were coming, but I didn't believe him, ah." Fatty Guo Hai exclaimed with a smile.

Su Hang smiled, but before he could reply, Li QingYuan pouted: "This kid, how can you not trust me, ah."

"Don't blame us. You say that Su Hang will attend every year, but he never showed up before, ah." Someone said.

"Right, right." Another alumnus echoed.

"That's my fault. Let me drink one shot as punishment." Su Hang picked up a glass of alcohol and gulped it down without ambiguity.

Su Hang didn't go to high school. He got admitted to a university abroad by passing the international exams through self-study. Strictly speaking, these alumni were the first group of friends he ever made. Although they mostly got together because they were Chinese overseas students, they all had good feelings towards each other. However, after graduating they had less contact with each other. Plus, Su Hang became busy with Su family affairs and wasn't in the mood to come to a party.

"One glass isn't enough, ah. Make it at least three!" Someone yelled.

"Alright." Su Hang, also feeling quite cheerful, picked up the wine bottle and poured another two glasses of wine for himself.

"Cool!" Everyone finally let Su Hang go. They started chatting, drinking, playing cards, singing, and having fun.

Su Hang talked to other people while quietly watching Qin Hai who sat in a corner. It was a strange coincidence, but both Su Hang and Qin Hai were orphans who both won scholarships and studied in the same school. Their experiences were very similar, but they weren't familiar with each other for some reason.

A bored Qin Hai was going through his phone when, at the corner of his eye, he suddenly saw Su Hang come over with a glass of wine. Qin Hai raised a brow in surprise.

"Drink?" Su Hang raised the glass he was holding.

Although Qin Hai found Su Hang's sudden closeness a little strange, he still held up his glass and clinked it against Su Hang's. He took a sip but was surprised to see Su Hang gulp down his entire glass. The doubt in Qin Hai's eyes became more prominent.
　　

"I heard from QingYuan that you went on a vacation recently?" Su Hang put down his glass and asked.

"Yes." Qin Hao didn't change his expression.

"How long do you intend your break to be?" Su Hang asked.

Su Hang wasn't one to beat around the bush. After a moment's thought, he decided to get to the point. "To be honest, I wanted to ask your help for something."

"Oh?" Qin Hai pretended to be surprised and said: "Tell me."

"I wanted you to take on a job. It won't be for too long, just for about a year." Su Hang explained. "The work isn't too hard. You can consider it something you can leisurely do while you're on vacation."

Qin Hai was really surprised this time. "You're introducing me to a job?"

"It isn't an introduction. I'm just hoping you're willing to help." Su Hang replied.

"What's the job?" Qin Hai asked in interest.

"You and I both grew up in an orphanage, so you should've heard about the Shen charity fund." Su Hang said.

"I know of it." Qin Hai nodded. "Our orphanage receives a donation almost every year from them. You want me to work with them?"

"Not exactly." Su Hang started to explain. "The Shen company's investment failed last year, so the Shen charity lost its main source of donations. An owner of a certain coffee shop chain wants to use all her shops' income for charity, but she's not good at running her own business. So I wanted to ask if you could help her with that."

"Corporate philanthropy?" Qin Hai raised a brow. "There aren't a lot of people like that left in the world. Who is it?"

"Shen Xi." Su Hang told him.

Qin Hai was befuddled. He looked at Su Hang with a complex expression and said: "If I remember correctly, she's the Shen family's daughter and your current wife."

"Yes." Su Hang nodded and admitted it without hesitation.

Qin Hai didn't ask why Su Hang didn't help her himself. After all, he could guess what kind of situation the Su family, who had taken out 3 billion yuan, was currently in. Qin Hai suddenly laughed and leaned on the sofa behind him. He crossed his arms and asked: "The fact that you reminded me of the Shen charity's previous donations first means that you hoped to have already convinced me before this point, right?"

"Yes." Su Hang readily admitted. "But I wasn't completely sure of it."

Qin Hai looked at Su Hang. He hesitated for a moment, then asked: "Did you risk loaning that kind of money to the Shen company because your orphanage was subsidized by them?"

"No." Su Hang shook his head." I did it because of my wife."

Because of Shen Xi? When Qin Hai was in high school, he had once met Shen Xi, who was a little girl at the time. Back then, she had stood beside Mrs. Shen, wearing clothes that looked ordinary but of good quality. The little girl was smiling as she distributed things to the children in the orphanage and was surrounded by photographers. What did he think of her back then? Qin Hai remembered hating her innocence and for acting virtuously just for the camera. He had found her pretentious.

"You have a good relationship with her?" Qin Hai asked.

At the thought of Shen Xi, Su Hang couldn't help but smile as he gently nodded.

"I'll think about it." Qin Hai suddenly said.

Su Hang's eyes lit up.

Qin Hai took an unopened bottle of white wine from the table and placed it in front of Su Hang. "If you can drink this entire bottle of wine, I'll consider it."

Su Hang's expression sank and turned a little ugly at this.

"It doesn't matter if you don't drink it. After all, Mr. Su can always look for someone else." Qin Hai laughed sarcastically and went to put the bottle away.

"Wait a minute." Su Hang stopped Qin Hai's hand.

After this, Qin Hai watched with a complex expression on his face as Su Hang drank the bottle of white wine. By the time Li QingYuan found out, Su Hang was already drunk and unconscious.

Li QingYuan looked at the empty bottle on the table, then at Qi Hai. He said: "Did you deliberately fill him with wine?"

"I didn't force him to drink." Qin Hai innocently replied.

"If you didn't want to help him, you could've just said it. Why torment him like this?" Li QingYuan's voice was a little loud and it attracted other people's attention.

People gathered around them and once they found out that Su Hang was drunk, they began to make fun.

"Su Hang is such a lightweight, ah. Getting drunk so easily."

"Haha, Li QingYuan, you send him back."

"No, wait. Isn't Su Hang married? Ask his wife to pick him up, ah."

"Li QingYuan, quickly call Su Hang's house."

Li QingYuan was no match for the rowdy crowd and could only take out his phone to call Shen Xi.

When Shen Xi received his call, she had just finished washing up and was reading in bed. After hearing from Li QingYuan that Su Hang was drunk, without much thought, Shen Xi changed her clothes and drove over.

Because she was familiar with Cirrus Cloud, so she quickly found the private room Li QingYuan had mentioned. She stood in the empty hallway, gently knocked on the door, then pushed it open a little.

"Excuse me, I'm here to pick up Su Hang..."

　

The light in the corridor shone through the crack and was very noticeable in the dark room. People looked up and saw a graceful beauty standing at the door, her dark eyes showing a touch of anxiety. At this wonderful image, the crowd became dazed.

"Sister-in-law." Li QingYuan spoke first and raised his hand towards Shen Xi.

Shen Xi turned her head towards Li QingYuan and saw Su Hang who was drunk and unconscious. She frowned. "How did he end up drinking so much?"

"It's all because of this beast." Li QingYuan pointed towards Qin Hai, who was next to Su Hang.

Shen Xi was surprised at Li Qing Yuan's words and looked towards Qin Hai. Almost reflexively, the surprised Qin Hia said: "Sorry."

"It's alright." Shen Xi smiled. She crouched in front of Su Hang and carefully shook him. In a low voice, she called out: "Su Hang, Su Hang. Can you hear me?"

"...Xiao Xi." Maybe because he heard Shen Xi, Su Hang let out a vague response.

"Wake up, we're going home." Shen Xi softly said.

"Nn..." The drunk Su Hang unconsciously hummed.

Seeing that he was completely wasted, Shen Xi gave Li QingYuan a wry smile. "It seems that he won't be waking up. QingYuan, can you please help me take Su Hang to the car?"

"Alright." Li QingYuan stood up and dragged Su Hang up from the sofa.

Seeing that Su Hang wasn't wearing his coat, Shen Xi looked around and tried to find it. Finding it hanging from the rack, Shen Xi took down the coat she had handed Su Hang this morning and gingerly put it on him.

"Xiao Xi..." It might be because the drunk Su Hang had smelled Shen Xi's scent, but he pushed Li QingYuan away and hugged his wife in front of everybody. Filled with alcohol, Su Hang rubbed his face against Shen Xi's neck.

Shen Xi had no choice but to helplessly smile and embrace the man to prevent him from falling down.

"Sorry sister-in-law, he got away from me." Li QingYuan quickly dragged Su Hang back to his shoulder and started walking to the door.

"Wait a minute." Shen Xi briefly stopped Li QingYuan. "It's cold outside. It's easier to get a cold when drunk."

After she said this, Shen Xi untied the white scarf around her neck, stood on her tiptoes, then gently wrapped it around Su Hang's neck. She also buttoned up Su Hang's coat all the way up, before letting go. "Alright, let's go."

"Good." Li QingYuan guided Su Hang out of the room.

Shen Xi followed him out. Once they were at the door, Shen Xi turned around and apologized to everyone: "I'm really sorry for making the mood strange."

"Ah...It's fine, it's fine."

"Yes, yes. Take your time, sister-in-law."

Everyone finally reacted and scrambled to reassure her.

Shen Xi smiled again. After a final nod, she turned and followed Li QingYuan out the door.

"What the hell...no wonder Su Hang never comes out to party. I wouldn't leave if I had such a great wife too, ah."

Qin Hai listened to everyone's envious words, feeling similarly dazed like the rest of them. He thought back at Shen Xi's gentle and patient attitude towards the wasted Su Hang and suddenly felt a little uncomfortable. 

He looked at the empty wine bottle on the table, then picked up his phone to send Su Hang a message.
